Everything on this site — the theme designs, the code, the words, the logo, the images, the visual aesthetic — is the intellectual property of Hector's Lab, unless otherwise stated. That includes all themes you purchase from us.
What's protected
- The Hector's Lab name, logo, and brand identity
- All original theme code (PHP, CSS, JavaScript, and template files)
- All original design elements, layouts, and visual assets within our themes
- All written content on hectorslab.com, including Lab Notes entries, product descriptions, and support documentation
- The Hector character illustration and all associated imagery
What you can do
When you purchase a theme, you are granted a single-site licence to use that theme, including its code and design elements, on one website. You can modify the theme for that site. You cannot resell, redistribute, or claim ownership of the theme or any part of it.
What you cannot do
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute our themes — even if you've modified them
- Use our themes as the basis for a theme you then sell or distribute
- Claim copyright or authorship over our work
- Use the Hector's Lab branding, logo, or mascot without permission
- Republish Lab Notes content or product descriptions without attribution and permission
Third-party assets
Our themes may include third-party open-source libraries, each used under their respective licences. These remain the property of their original authors. We comply with all licence requirements — attribution is included in the theme documentation.
