These are the rules of the lab. They're short, they're fair, and they're written in English, not legalese. By purchasing or using anything from Hector's Lab, you agree to these terms.

What you get

When you purchase a theme, you receive a single ZIP file containing the complete theme package. One purchase = one site licence. You get free updates for 12 months, and the theme works forever — no subscription required.

All features listed on the product page are built into the theme. No additional plugins are required to access those features. If a feature is listed, it's included.

Licence and usage

• You may use the theme on a single website per purchase.
• You may modify the theme code to suit your needs.
• You may not resell, redistribute, or sublicense the theme — modified or unmodified — to anyone else.
• If you're building a site for a client, that's fine. But the theme purchase must be tied to that specific client's site. Multiple client sites require multiple purchases. (Talk to us about volume pricing.)

Payment

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. Prices are listed in US dollars. You pay once, and the theme is yours permanently. No recurring charges, no hidden fees.

Refunds

Because our products are digital goods delivered instantly, we don't offer refunds once the ZIP file has been downloaded. If something isn't working as described, contact us first — we'll fix it. If we genuinely can't resolve the issue, we will make it right, up to and including a full refund at our discretion.

We stand behind our work. If you're unhappy for any reason, reach out. We'd rather sort it out than have an unhappy customer.

Updates

Free updates are included for 12 months from the purchase date. After that, you can optionally renew to continue receiving feature updates. Security patches are always free, regardless of renewal status. You'll be notified by email when an update is available.

Support

Support is provided via email and the contact forms on this site. We aim to respond within 24 hours. Support covers theme setup, bug fixes, and usage questions. It does not cover customisation work or issues caused by third-party plugins or modifications you've made to the theme code.

Warranty and liability

We build themes to be reliable, secure, and performant. But like all software, they come with no absolute guarantees. Hector's Lab isn't liable for any damages or losses resulting from the use or inability to use our themes. That said, we test thoroughly and support actively — if something goes wrong, we'll help.

Intellectual property

All theme code, design, and assets remain the intellectual property of Hector's Lab. Your purchase grants you a licence to use them, not to own them. Fancy lawyer phrasing for: you can use it, you just can't sell it to someone else.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we'll note the change in Lab Notes and update the date at the top. Continued use of the site or your theme after changes means you accept the new terms.
